Two people were killed and 13 injured when a building under construction at Fourth Cross Street, Pettah, collapsed yesterday morning. Three wholesale stores and a hotel located on either side of the building were also damaged.

No warrant required to arrest Ravi - Magistrate

Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Sarath C. Karunaratne yesterday observed that there was no need for a court warrant to arrest a suspect and that investigators could arrest a suspect and produce him in court if there was sufficient evidence for an arrest.

Two killed, 13 injured in four-storey building collapse

Two persons were killed on the spot when a four storey building in the heart of Fort collapsed in the wee hours of yesterday. Thirteen others with injuries were pulled out of the rubble of the collapsed building in Fourth Cross Street, Pettah, which is still under construction.
