Trading on mixed band at Bourse

Trading at the Colombo Bourse closed on a mixed band yesterday . According to stock brokers and market analysts, this was due to profit taking and other mixed sentiments.

The All Share Price Index increased to 1,330.98 points from 1,321.68 with the Milanka Price Index depreciating to 1,991.52 points from 2,004.78. Turnover for the day was Rs 167,719,961.

The day's top heavily traded stocks were Nations Trust, Soy Foods, Ceylinco Seylan, C.T. Land and Equity Two Ltd.

Domestic purchases were Rs. 3,164 million and foreign purchases Rs 208 million. The day's top five gainers were Cey Theatres, Cargills, Mullers, Keells Food and Browns.
