Leng Paul wins individual event by S. M. Jiffrey Abdeen Teo Boon Leng Paul of Singapore won the individual event while Thauland pair of Chatchai Jittrapinate and Sittikorn Thapthiang won the country event at the third Annual SriLankan Cargo Golf Championship organised by the SriLankan Airlines and Victoria Golf and Country Resort and worked at the Victoria Golf Course at Rajawella on Saturday. As many as 12 countries including Sri Lanka participated in this golf championship and it was a Singaporean who won the stableford competition. Teo Boon Leng Paul came with a good 41 nett but later in the day Sri Lankan Barry Brown came with a similar score and on a count back Leng Paul edged out Barry Brown by a single point. Barry Brown finished runner up. In the team championship it was Thailand's duo of Chatchai Jittrapinate 38 nett and Sittikorn Thapathiang 37 nett made a total of 75 nett to carry away the country championship with Singapore pair of Teo Boon Leng Paul 41 nett and Lee Yong Hew Mykell 32 aggregating 73 nett finished runner. Last year's winner Khoo Chee Ruat could manage only 31 nett this year. Mist of the golfers revelled under ideal conditions for golf on a well maintained course on a fair and sunny day. |
