CR off to a flying start, beat sailors 77-15

CR and FC scored a rousing 77 points to 15 win over Navy SC in their Caltex inter club 'A' division league rugby tournament match played at Longden Place, yesterday.

The winners collected their points from six goals and seven tries having led 41 nil at half time. Navy SC managed to score only three unconverted tries.

Asanga Rodrigo led the way with three tries for CR and FC while M. Mushtaq, Samoan Kiti Semo and Naufer Rahim scoring two tries each.

In addition Zulki hamid, Roshan Perera, I. Wijewardena and Kenyan Denis Mwanga scored a try each. Rodrigo, Kodagoda and Hettiarachchi did the conversions. For Navy SC Sumedha Malawana, Ravi Jayasuriya and G. M. A. Silva scored a try each. Dilroy Fernando refereed.

Havies win 37-10

Havelocks Sports Club defeated Old Zahirians Sports Club by 37 points to 10 points in their Caltex inter club 'A' division league rugby tournament match played at Havelock Park yesterday.

The winners collected their points from two goals, four tries and one penalty having led 20-3 at half time. Old Zahirians SC responded with one goal and one penalty.
