by N.U. Razzak in Male'

A sixteen member national squad under the captaincy of all-rounder Moosa Kaleem together with two officials left for Sri Lanka last Sunday on a twelve day tour in preparation for the fifth A.C.C. Trophy Tournament to be worked off in Malaysia in the middle of June, 2004.

The team is scheduled to play five practice matches, against leading mercantile teams of Sri Lanka and get engaged in five days of practice during this two week tour. The manager of the team Ali Mohamed Manik is hopeful that the matches and the sessions of practice in Sri Lanka will help a lot to get the vital international exposure and experience which will give confidence to the team to compete effectively at the forthcoming A.C.C. tournament.

The following is the squad: Moosa Kaleem (captain), Abdulla Shafeeu, Abdulla Shahid, Ibrahim Hussain, Ahmed Hussain, Ahmed Neesham, Nasir, Ahmed Afzal, Faiz, Ismail Nihad, Mohamed Mahafooz, Mohamed Azlee, Ismail Nadheem, Mohamed Aflah, Hassan Waheed, Hussain Adnan, Husham Ibrahim and Iujaz Hafiz.
