Mr. Rohana was speaking at a meeting held at Madampe off Chilaw. Rohana said: "It was enough evidence to show the people repudiated the UNP lock stock and barrel and he requested people should vote for the Alliance and give a resounding victory bringing out the same result. What the UNP did was to betray the country talking of peace. People who knew better taught the UNP a bitter lesson by defeating it at the last poll". Wayamba Alliance Provincial Council election candidate Nishantha Perera said: "Place your implicit faith in the Wayamba Provincial Council in the same manner you trusted the Alliance". The Wayamba Provincial Council will work hand-in-hand with the Alliance to improve the country's economy, Perera added. Chilaw UC Opposition Leader Hilary Prasanna Fernando and UC Member Sadikul Ameen also spoke. |
