Ceylinco Life produces South Asia's first CIAM qualifiers

Top life insurer Ceylinco Life has produced Sri Lanka's and South Asia's first Chartered Insurance Agency Managers, reaching yet another milestone in the insurance industry.

Twenty-one representatives of the company's management staff have received the prestigious CIAM designation, the highest internationally recognised qualification for agency managers in life insurance.

Awarded by the Life Insurance Marketing and Research Association (LIMRA), CIAM covers the recruitment, training, development and motivation of life insurance sales personnel and the management of large professional sales teams.

The group of 21 qualifiers from Ceylinco Life comprised Business Development Managers, Regional Sales Managers and designated trainers of Ceylinco Life.

Additionally, 47 Sales Officers of the company have received Fellowship of the Life Underwriter Training Council (LUTC) of USA, on completion of the LUTC Diploma in Life Insurance Marketing.

"Professionalism has been one of the keys to our phenomenal success," Ceylinco Life Director/General Manager R. Renganathan said. "Ceylinco Life was also the first company in Sri Lanka to produce qualifiers to the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), and we are pleased to see that we continue to set the standards for professionalism in the local insurance sector."

In 2003, Ceylinco Life produced another 11 qualifiers to the Million Dollar Round Table, the elite global forum for top notch insurance professionals which meets annually in the USA.

In a further demonstration that the company's commitment to professional development is paying off, two of Ceylinco Life's Sales Officers have received the International Quality Award (IQA), an important benchmark in the insurance industry.

"As the country's most successful life insurer, Ceylinco Life is committed to being at the forefront of efforts to enhance professionalism of sales personnel and their managers," Renganathan added.

"This is because we believe that life insurance is much more than just a business. It is an integral part of the social support structure of the community."

Ceylinco Life whose 90- strong branch network is the country's largest in the insurance sector, achieved a record Rs 3.042 Billion in premium income in 2003.

The company's Life fund stood at Rs 8.7 Billion at the end of the year.
