Negative trend at Bourse reversed

The negative trend in trading during the last few days was reversed at the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) though transactions were on a thin volume.

The All Share Price Index recorded gains at 1,212.22 points from 1,201.52 points on Tuesday.

The Milanka Price Index increased to 1,863.94 points compared to 1,847.94 points the previous day. There was foreign buying on SLT shares and the retail segment made the market active yesterday.

Turnover for the day was Rs 66,815,698.

According to Stock Brokers, the market will watch the sittings of the new parliament today.

Eden Hotel Lanka, Talawakelle, Vanik Incorp Ltd, Marawila Resorts and Lion Brewery were the top five gainers.
