Man kills mother-in-law, wife's paramour Panadura group correspondent A man alleged to have committed a double murder killing his 52 year old mother-in-law and the paramour of his wife living at Horetuduwa in Panadura South Police area and Anugulana was arrested. OIC Panadura South Police Rasika Prasanna Ratnayake with a Police Party arrested the suspect Denzil Jayantha on Friday. He was produced before the Panadura Magistrate G. S. Edirisinghe and remanded till April 23 pending investigations. According to Police investigations the suspect had come to know that his wife had fallen in love with a person called Dinesh in Angulana, Moratuwa with the knowledge of his mother-in-law. The suspect angered over this had gone in search of Dinesh Perera who was living at Angulana and stabbed him to death. Thereafter he had come to Horetuduwa in Panadura and stabbed his mother-in-law. She was admitted to the Panadura Base Hospital on Thursday night with critical injuries. She died on Sunday. Panadura Acting Magistrate W. D. Karunatilleke visited the Panadura Base Hospital and held the Magisterial inquiry and ordered the Panadura Judicial Officer Dr. M. Siversubramaniam to perform the autopsy. The inquest into the death of Dinesh Perera, father of two children was held by the Mount Lavinia Magistrate. Mount Lavinia Police led evidence. |
