CT Properties to commence piling for Empire residential project by Sarath Malalasekera CT Properties Limited, a company in the Ceylon Theatres Group recently signed a contract with Nawalaoka Construction Company to commence piling for the "Empire", an exclusive residential development at project Braybrook Place, Colombo 2. Nawaloka Construction has carried out piling work over the past ten years. These have included, the Kelanitissa Power Station, Speaker's Residence, World Trade Centre, Sampath Bank Centre, Kotalawela Defence Centre, Access Towers, Bulk Cement Terminal at Peliyagoda, Asian International School and the Madiwela Government Project. Headed by H.K. Dharmadasa, the company has been at the forefront of development work in Sri Lanka for over fifty years. "Empire" will have two towers of 37 and 33 levels containing 96 tastefully designed apartments in three different floor areas and four Penthouses. It will also house a swimming pool, clubhouse, gym, squash courts, poolroom, function room, mini cinema and children's play area. The design also provides landscaped space for rest and relaxation. Two reserved car parking slots for each apartment owner will be made available at levels two and eight. The Design Group Five has taken a lead as Architects to this project with STEMS Consultants functioning as structural engineers. The initial response to this project has been good with just over 50% of the apartments already reserved, the Group Chairman said. The developers expect this project to set a high standard in the residential property development sector and there are plans to launch more projects in the future. Ceylon Theatres Limited is a public quoted company with diversified interests including Retail, Food and Beverage, Property Development, Ceramic and porcelain ware, Plantations, Stock Brokering and Packaging. The Group also owns and operates the "Majestic City" shopping Mall through its subsidiary CT Land Development. |
