No change in indices, turnover at Bourse

Indices and turnover at the Colombo Bourse yesterday largely continued to remain at the same level similar to Wednesday's trading.

The All Share Price Index experienced an insignificant deprecation at 1,219.90 points from 1,220.30 points on Wednesday.

The Milanka Price Index was also marginally down at 1,870.70 points from 1871.10 points, the previous close. Turnover was Rs 75,766,244 compared to Rs 98,642,296 on Wednesday.

According to market sources, the lack of buying interest mainly by the large investors coupled with the remaining holidays especially in the private sector companies made trading lull. The day's heavily traded stocks were SLT, Colombo Land, JKH, Mullers and Ahot Properties.

Domestic purchases were Rs. 1080 million and foreign purchases Rs 77 million.

Tangerine, On'ally, Hotel Sigiriya, Balangoda and Bogala Graphite were the top gainers.

Tea Small Holder Factories announced a 30 % second interim dividend.
