Addressing a media discussion yesterday, the Maha Nayaka Thera said this attitude brings about disrepute to the Party Leadership. "This is one of the causes for our country to go backwards. Every successive Government since gaining National Independence "played for the pleasure of the minorities at the expense of the majority, thus jeopardising the rights of the majority Sinhala community", he said. "It paved the way for national bankruptcy. The elimination of Sinhala Buddhist patriots of eminence from the political arena operates against the Sinhala Buddhists as a serious push into the abyss," the Venerable Mahanayaka Thera said. |
