UNF never listened to the sorrowful tale of graduates - Salinda Dissanayake

Kurunegala central special corr.

Up to this day there are 26,000 unemployed graduates in Sri Lanka. Out of them 80 per cent are female graduates. Some of them are mothers.

There are so many vacancies in various projects and departments. But the former UNF government has never taken any care or necessary action about them, said ex-MP Salinda Dissanayake at Bauddhaloka Pirivena, Kurunegala last Wednesday.

More than 2,000 unemployed graduates participated on this occasion and Ven. Ratmalgoda Mahanama Thera presided. These graduates have to face this fate because there is no national policy prepared for graduates.

The former PA government gave jobs to 7,000 graduates. No one can deny that. The President is ready to handle this problem. Under the Samurdhi programme. She has promised to give more jobs for these graduates.

The UNF government never listened to the sorrowful story of graduates, he added. Ratmalgoda Mahanama Thera also addressed the meeting.
