Dissanayake by Kuliyapitiya group correspondent Every country that tried to build a national economy through a mixed economy failed. Rationed coupons, queues are the ultimate result of a mixed economy since the economic growth is stagnated. The market economy is the only way to eradicate poverty now. The international community had given the full recognition for the economic policies of the Premier Ranil Wickremesinghe, Minister of Samurdhi, Agriculture and Livestock Development S. B. Dissanayake said addressing a series of UNF election propaganda meetings held at Kandanegedara, Kelanimulla and Giriulla in Katugampola Electoral Division. These meetings were held in support of the candiature of Katugampola UNP Chief Organiser Dayasiri Jayasekara. The Minister added that the Prime Minister's peace process was also given the highest recognition by the international community. At the same time people of North-East are of the opinion that the long expected everlasting peace could be restored through that peace process. Even Prabhakaran and Karuna Amman have faith and confidence in the peace process. They have their differences. But they have common views on the peace process. Chandrika having realised this fact now says that she would proceed with the MoU. But she alleged that MoU was a betrayal that leads to division of the country earlier. Mahagalkadawela Punnayasara Thera, The Chairman NW-PC candidate Dayasiri Jaasekera also spoke. |
