UNF govt. made farmers' lives miserable - Mahinda Rajapakse

Sabaragamuwa special corr.

The UNF government increased the prize of fertilizer from 350 rupees to 900 rupees and made farmers' lives miserable. Also they closed about forty factories making thousands of workers unemployed, said Mahinda Rajapakse, the former leader of Opposition, at an election propaganda rally of UPFA held at Kegalle town last Monday evening.

He added that in last election time Ranil Wickremesinghe promised to give gold necklaces and bracelets and an allowance of Rs. 2,500 to youths.

Mahinda Rajapakse asked how many did receive them. The UNF government is trying to sell tanks and forests like Singharaja to foreigners, and he requested people to vote for UPFA to save the country, from this corrupted regime.

Former Parliamentarian Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Athauda Seneviratne, Mahipala Herath and Prof. Tissa Vitharana also addressed the gathering.
