Clashes break out in Nablus as Israeli troops arrest two Palestinians NABLUS, West Bank, March 28 (AFP) Exchanges of fire broke out as Israeli troops arrested two Palestinians from the mainstream Fatah organisation in this West Bank city Sunday, sources on both sides said. A 15-year-old boy was lightly wounded in the clashes after around 10 jeeps moved into the casbah, or Old City, and surrounded a house in the late afternoon, Palestinian medical sources and witnesses said. The troops left the area shortly after the operation in which two brothers were detained, they added. "During activity to arrest Fatah operatives, gunmen opened fire at the force and we returned fire. There were no injuries," an Israeli military source said, confirming the two arrests. |
