In Ranil's Government, Ranil, Malik, Milinda and G.L. were the sole rulers while the others in the Cabinet were nominal Ministers who were capable of nothing and that some of those who broke away from the People's Alliance were running amok in the Kandy District wearing a pair of short trousers and chasing after not only the opponents but also their own people who brought them to power. A.N.C.L.(Lake House) Chairman Kesarralal Gunasekera said that under a Freedom Alliance Government a mixed economy jointly engineered by the Public sector, Private sector and the Co-operative sector will spearhead the economic revival fostering local industries to benefit the local farmer, worker and the producer. Moratuwa SLFP Chief Organiser Jeevan Kumaratunga said that if not for President Kumaratunga's timely decision to dissolve Parliament, there would have been a state of anarchy without leaving an inch of land for us to stand on. The UNF Government followed an economic policy of enriching the black marketers at the expense of the innocent helpless masses and kept on selling the entire country to fill in their own pockets. He urged the people to vote for the Freedom Alliance on April 2 to ensure a courteous and cultured society free from corruption. Freedom Alliance Candidates Mervyn Silva, Gamini Thilakasiri, Niranjan Nananayakkara, Chandana Kathriarachchi, the Arts Forum members Wimal Sapukotana, Gayani Sudarshie,Rajitha Shiran and Moratuwa UC opposition members Anusha Gunasekera, Harin Gomes, Maurice Wijeratne and Samanlal Fernando also spoke. |
