The University of Colombo, Sri Lanka will hold its Postgraduate Convocation for the conferment of Postgraduate Degrees and Diplomas on March, 30 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International conference Hall (BMICH). The convocation will be held in two sessions, the Morning and After-noon commencing 9 am. and 2.45 pm. respectively. His Grace, the Arch Bishop, Most Rev. Dr. Oswald Gomis, the Chancellor of the University of Colombo will confer the following Degrees and Diplomas at this Convocation. 30th Morning Postgraduate Diploma 337, Diploma (Medical) 230, 30th Afternoon Doctor of Philosophy 03, Doctor of Medicine 100, Master of Surgery 32, Master of Philosophy 14, Master of Arts 21, Master of Education 65, Master of Business Administration 69, Master of Laws 05 and Master of Science 45. A total of 921 graduands/diplomates will be conferred their Postgraduate Degrees/Diplomas at this Convocation. Dr. A. S. Seneviratne of the Department of Plant Sciences of the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo will be honoured by conferring the Degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) and Late Siripala Rupasinghe, formerly Senior Professor of Social Sciences Education, Faculty of Education, University of Colombo will be honoured by conferring the Degree of Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa), posthumously. Dr. Seneviratne will deliver the convocation address. |
