He said so at reception meeting held for him at Piliyandala as he is contesting Colombo District on UNF. This election is not requested by us or the people. Even without informing the Leader of the Opposition President dissolved Parliament. By doing so she has put the people in trouble, country is disarranged, peace process is in crisis, blocking the ways of supplying jobs to the people, he further said. It is certain that the number of seats for SLFP in Colombo District will be reduced. There was a reawakening in the country due to peace programme of the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. Only UNF would continue the programme and do service to the people through it, said Lokuge. The tourist industry which was gone to the bottom during the PA regime, has been developed at an unprecedented pace during last two years under Ranil Wickremesinghes government, and thereby bringing in immense foreign exchange to the country which was used for the development of the country, he further said. Nimal Ariyadasa, Kesbewa Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman, Niroshan Padukka, Vice Chairman, K. A. D. Hemasiri, Pradeshiya Sabha Member were among the speakers. |
