CIMA 'Quality Partnership' status for WISDOM WISDOM won status from CIMA UK in recognition of quality standard and reliable education services to students, said the Director of the institute T. Soumyraj. He was addressing a press briefing at hotel Taj Samudra recently. He said that achieving the CIMA " Quality Partnership" is a millstone for the WISDOM and accreditation of WISDOM's quality of education that surpass the standards set by CIMA. The pass rates of WISDOM students are higher than those in the UK. He said the "Quality partnership" status is conferred on the CIMA tuition institutes only when they met criteria standards set by CIMA UK. The scheme is based on a framework of standards for CIMA course delivery. Standards are set considering the students' learning processes, experience and the environment within which learning takes place. The standards cover areas of Teaching, Learning support, Course Monitoring and Review, Coverage of Syllabi, staff expertise and resources and Involvement of students in course development. He said that currently the WISDOM caters to a student population of approximately 5,000 full-time and part time or working students per year. Though the institution was started two years ago, the WISDOM in May 2003 examination created history by winning four world prizes out of five subjects at the foundation level paper based examination. In November it won one world prize and four Sri Lankan prizes at the Intermediate and Final level examinations. |
