NIBM sixth Annual Degree Convocation by Irangika Range "A degree program should be modelled with corporate practical and theory knowledge to suit national development requirements in Sri Lanka. Our degree curricular is focussed to achieve this purpose in the country" said Dean of the Quinn School of Business University College, Dublin, Dr. Martin Butler. He was addressing the NIBM sixth Annual Degree Convocation at the BMICH last week. "The NIBM BSc (MIS) degree program is acclaimed worldwide. "I now see these students marching towards as pioneers of the program and contributing to the development of Sri Lanka and global economies," he said. The BSc in MIS program is conducted at the NIBM in collaboration with the University College, Dublin in Ireland. Eighty-four students were awarded the BSc (MIS) degree this year and the pass rate has shown a 93 percent increase. NIBM Chairman Thusantha Wijemanna said the doors of opportunity were extended in the computer field. "The previous batch is already in the field, based on their experience and professional qualifications", he said. NIBM is acclaimed for excellence in computer training, management education and training in Sri Lanka. In the area of IT NIBM offers a BSc in MIS in collaboration with the University of Ireland, a Higher Diploma in Computer Systems Design, a Diploma in Computer Systems Design and many certificate courses to cater to different needs as well as to ensure students with lesser entry qualifications are able to work towards a well recognised degree in MIS from Europe. |
