ASPI gains

Trading at the Colombo Bourse closed on a marginally positive note.

The All Share Price Index recorded gains of 1,248.50 points compared to 1,216.20 points on Friday. The increase was mainly due to 1,800 shares of Carsons Group being traded at higher prices.

The Milanka Price Index was marginally up by one point - 1,951.01 points compared to the previous day. Because of the low level of activity at CSE, the turnover dipped to Rs 90,409,959 from Rs. 175,266,224.

The shares of Nations Trust, SLT, NDB Bank, Richard Pieris and Distilleries were the highest. Domestic purchases were Rs 1,280 million and foreign purchases Rs 120 million. The day's top five gainers were Bukit Darah, Metal Recyclers, Carsons, Namunukula and Fortress Resorts.
