Ranil aiming for power with LTTE support in NE - Tikiri Kobbekaduwa

by Sanjaya Asela Maturata

Ranil is dreaming of coming to power again with the help of Tiger representatives elected from the North East by Prabhakaran. But today the Tiger organisation has broken into two. Prabhakaran and Karuna are fighting one another.

Today Ranil's dreams have become blurred said United People's Alliance, Kandy district candidate and Yatinuwara Sri Lanka Freedom Party Chief Organiser, Tikiri Kobbekaduwa.

Kobbekaduwa expressed these views addressing a propaganda rally held at Kandangama area in the Yatinuwara electorate.

At this rally a group including H. Leelaratne a close relative of Gemuni Abeysundara, a UNP supporter and former UNP organiser for Yatinuwara and Priyantha Jayawardena joined UPFA in support of Kobbekaduwa.

Kobbekaduwa speaking further said, "The UNF government went on destroying the country. They gave priority to the needs of the Tiger organisation. They created for the LTTE international recognition as never before. They forgot the promises made to the people and gave concessions to a handful of rich people".

The UNF government showed no interest in repairing a road in the villages. However they made plans to construct expressways to earn commissions in millions of rupees for themselves. They sold all the resources of the country. They sold not only the Sinharaja and Samanala Forests but also the Galle Face Green, he said.
