Seylan bank, Mobitel tie up for SMS Banking Seylan Bank partnered with Mobitel (Pvt) Ltd. to offer its current and savings account holders with a Mobitel connection, a unique menu driven SMS banking facility. Access to their accounts would be available from any part of the world over a GSM phone for balance inquiry, debit and credit transactions, total of clearing cheques of date, un-cleared effects, total of cheques returned etc. The unique feature of this channel gives Seylan VISA Credit Card holders an immediate alert re- their last credit card transaction subject to pre-determined limits of the transactions, in addition to the credit card balance and next payment details. As such, the bank's credit card holders would enjoy a security feature unlike any other credit card holder. Seylan Bank's customers with Mobitel SMS connection would also be privy to the latest interest and exchange rates, make PIN changes and requisition cheque books at the touch of a button. Mobitel's SMS technology offers two methods of message delivery to the bank's customers, namely the PUSH and PULL method. The signing of the agreement for the historic launch of this channel took place yesteray at the Rajabojun Restaurant, the Chief Executives of the two companies, namely, the Director / General Manager / Chief Executive of Seylan Bank - Ajita Pasqual and Director / Chief Executive Officer of Mobitel (Pvt) Ltd. Lalith De Silva in the presence of the senior management of both organisations and their clients. |
