The Presidential Advisory Council on Combatting Crime will meet all political parties contesting the April 2 general elections to discuss a program to prevent violence. The meeting will be held at the Ministry of Internal Security. The Advisory Council is of the view that a great deal could be accomplished in the prevention of election violence by making the regional and rural level village leaders aware of the situation where a large number of incidents of election violence have taken place after the acceptance of nominations. In accordance with the decision taken by the Advisory Council that instant action should be taken in this regard, it was decided to call all political parties and discuss this matter, Internal Security Ministry Secretary M. N. Junaid said. |
