A 9 entry points open for Maha Sivarathri

The Defence Ministry will keep entry/exit points at Uylankulam, Omanthai and Madhu Road junction open for traffic 24 hours a day from February 17-19 in account of the Maha Sivarathri festival to facilitate the passage of the devotees, states a Ministry of Defence press release.

The opening hours of Muhamalai Entry/Exit point will be extended till 9.00 p.m. during the same period.

International Committee of Red Cross officials have also pledged assistance until 6.30 p.m. on all three days.

However, a response to this arrangement from the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission and the LTTE is still awaited.
