Sakihara, the chief incumbant of the Jurakuji Temple in Japan and Founder President of the Sakihara Foundation for Poor Children in Japan was in Sri Lanka to donate Rs. 4 million worth nursery equipment for the poor children in Sri Lanka. The Japanese priest arrived in Sri Lanka last week for the opening ceremony of the nursery at Kalahanduwa village. The priest said that they plan to help children from all communities irrespective of their caste or creed. He has also consented to fund this project continuously to provide free education to the children of the area. M. Sakir has been appointed the Director of the school. Here Rev. Sakihara distributing gifts among the children after the ceremony. |
