National Think Tank to tackle urgent problems

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga is to set up a National Think Tank to deliberate on and recommend urgent national policies and plans of action to be taken in economy, education, health, law and order, crime prevention, peace and other major issues.

The Presidential Secretariat said yesterday that leading professionals, academics, members of the business community from large, medium and small enterprises will be invited to participate in the Think Tank.

It is expected that a non-political work program will be worked out with the national interest in mind, through this body.
