PM thanks UNP Parliamentarians

by Ariyaratne Ganegoda

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe addressing the former UNP Parliamentary Group at Sirikotha yesterday, thanked the UNP Parliamentarians and organizers, who forged ahead with the difficult task of resuscitating the country at a time when the economy had collapsed in the face of a war and when the people who voted the party into power were suffering.

The Parliament was dissolved without consulting the Prime Minister or any of the party leaders.

This was done when the dividends of peace in the form of economic benefits to the people were at hand. We will explain this situation to the working people on provincial, district and electorate levels. In view of the unprecedented quantum of development work we have achieved and in view of the peaceful situation prevailing in the country, we are sure to form the next UNF Government on the results of April 02 General Election, said Premier Wickremesinghe.
