Ironically, the talking point in this cloistered tete - tete was the urgent need for a change in the leadership. They were of the view that Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe's image was now at a all time low with the breakdown in governance and his disastrous confrontation with the President. According to political sources, this group had arrived at a consensus that Minister S.B. Dissanayake and Mahinda Wijesekera should not be nominated as candidates for the next election due to having brought the UNF government to disrepute. |
