Lanka square under 19 series by Chris Dhambarage Sri Lanka under 19 scored a consolation 27 runs win over the touring West Indies under 19 to share the series 2 all in the fourth and final one day match played at the R. Premadasa Stadium yesterday. The Lankans batting first hit up a formidable 252 for 8 from their 50 overs and then dismissed their opponents for 225 in 48 overs. Paceman Suraj Mohamed was the matchwinner with a six wicket haul and received good support from Ganganath Ratnayake and Kosala Kulasekera. Earlier Sri Lanka under 19 put up their best batting performance to reach 252 for 8 from their 50 overs. Upul Tharanga and Damindu Kularatne led the way with an opening stand of 105 runs. Tharanga struck four boundaries and one six facing 53 balls while Kularatne hoisted three sixes and four boundaries. |
