News Business Features Editorial Security Politics World Letters Sports Obituaries | Minister calls upon officers to perform duties without discrimination The Ministry Assisting Vanni Rehabilitation has appointed 25 camp officers in charge of 88 relocated villages and 59 welfare centres, in the Puttalam district since 1990. In addition, a few clerical officers and office assistants (K.K.S) have been appointed the Ministry's Circuit Offices in the Puttalam District. Minister of Vanni Rehabilitation Noordeen Mashoor handed over the letters of appointment at a function held at Errukkalampiddy Muslim Maha Vidyalaya in Puttalam recently. Minister Mashoor addressing the new appointees spoke of the difficulties he underwent in obtaining the Treasury approval for these appointments mainly to intensify the welfare activities of the displaced population living in the Puttalam district and strengthening the Circuit Officers of the Ministry in the district. He called upon the new officers to extend their dedicated services to the suffering masses without any discrimination. Minister Mashoor said that action had been taken to obtain foreign funds for the welfare of the displaced community. Minister Mashoor also participated as the chief guest at the opening of the new classroom buildings for Alankuda Muslim Vidyalaya and Kandakuli Muslim Maha Vidyalaya in the Puttalam district last Friday. Minister Mashoor, during his visit in Puttalam commissioned two electricity supply schemes for the Pulichchankulam - Muhamadiyapuram and Akkaraweli villages in the Mundal Divisional Secretariat Division in Puttalam. |
