Rev. Sister BERNADETTE FERNANDO, expired. Funeral followed by Holy Mass at 3.00 p.m. on Monday 26th January. Burial at Wennappuwa Cemetery. Leaving Holy Family Convent, Wennappuwa.

Mohamed Hadjiar, son-in-law of late Mr and Mrs Jameel Marikkar, husband of late Shireen, father of Muhammed Hamza (Nestle) and Abdul Barriee (Aitken Spence), father-in-law of Roumana and Shaheeda (A.G's Dept), grandfather of Arshad, Nafeesa, Amjad and Kamil, brother of late M.H.M. Junaid, late M.H.A. Aziz, late M.H.M. Sheriff and late Mrs Anwer Cader, expired. Janaza took place on Sunday 25th January 2004 at Thalapitiya Muslim Burial Ground. 119, Circular Road, Thalapitiya, Galle.

Beloved wife of the late Reginald (Reggie), affectionate mother of Lakshmi, the late Neelal, Padmalal, Swarna, Raju, Krishnalal (Jingle), Menaka & Dhammika, mother-in-law of Asoka Moonesinghe, Dhammi, Raja Sahabandu, Samara, Manel, Metta Karunanayake & Sureshini, daughter of the late Cornelis & Mary de Zoysa Abeysiriwardena of Balapitiya. Beloved husband of the late Kamalambigai, father of Dr Devendra (USA), Dr Thavendran, Ravindran (NZ), Gayatri (Aus), Narendran, Mahendran and Geetha (Aus), father-in-law of Dr Romila (USA), Sakuntala, Radha (NZ), Ganeshamurty, Kaushalya, Vasugi and Kathirkanthan (Aus), brother of Mandaleshvari Kumarasooriya, expired. Beloved husband of Susila, loving father of Bhagya (International Pre-school), Ranmal (SLIM) and Ramal (Dialog GSM), father-in-law of Wije (Buddhist Cultural Centre), Dhammika (Shell Gas) and Ranishka (Lyceum International School), precious son of the late Mr & Mrs H.L.H Perera of Padiyapelella and son-in-law of the late Mr & Mrs D.M.P. Jayawardana (Kalutara). Funeral at 5 p.m. General Cemetery, Galkissa on Monday (26). Cortege leaves residence 15/4, Bellantara Rd., Nedimala, Dehiwala. 

WIJEYARATNA - HENRY (Retired Director, Hardy Senior Technical Institute, Ampara). Beloved husband of Constance, loving father of Rohan, Punyamala, Rupika and Indralal, father-in-law of Sunethra, Sumith Mahanama, K.G. Weeratunge and Ramani, dearest grandfather of Chamira, Lakmalee, Minthaka, Ravin and Johann, expired on 22nd January. Remains handed over to the Medical Faculty on 23rd in accordance with his wishess. 483/49, Havelock Road, Colombo 6.  

JAYASEKARA  MEEPEGAMA - Mrs SOMAWATHI of Nalandarama Road, Nugegoda. Beloved wife of Mahathun Meepegama (New Keyzer Trading Company, Colombo 11), loving mother of Manel, Malkanthi (People's Bank - Queen's Street), Thilak (Timee Electric Company - Nugegoda), Kusumka and Malraji (Norwegian Embassy), mother-in-law of Kumara Kodituwakku (Bank of Ceylon - Card Centre), Mapalagama (People's Bank - Corporate Branch), Renila, Asoka Suriyarachchi (Hatton National Bank - Head Office Branch) and Lt. Col Sunil Wanniarachchi (Sri Lanka Army), expired. YOOSUF - MARIKKAR of Dalugama Kelaniya - Retired Assistant Director of Central Bank. Husband of late Hidaya, father of Hafiz Marikkar of Seylan Bank, expired on 25th Sunday. Janaza leaving No. 15, Shady Grove Avenue, off Cotta Road, Borella, Colombo 08 for Burial at Kuppiyawatta Burial Ground at 10.00 a.m. on Monday 26th.

HARICHANDRA - EARLE SELVANATHAN (Attorney-at-Law) Called to Rest with Jesus. Darling husband of Sharmila, loving father of Sananjani (Ladies College) and Aaron (St Thomas Prep), loving son of late P. Selvanathan and Vimala, loving brother of Jerome Devchandra (Union Bank), son-in-law of Sondera Singham, brother-in-law of Charles and Dhammi Singham and Chamila. Remains will lie at A.F. Raymond's Funeral Parlour from Monday 26th January 2 p.m. onwards. Cortege leaves the Parlour after a Service at 3 p.m. on Wednesday 28th January.
