People of Matara celebrate signing of SLFP-JVP MoU

The whole of Matara was decorated with red and blue flags on the day of signing the SLFP-JVP Alliance. A large number of banners were displayed over the highways and by ways expressing the good wishes of the people of Matara for the new Alliance to which the SLFP and JVP high command placed their signatures.

A joint rally of the SLFP and JVP too was held near the Matara Bus Stand at which all local leaders of the SLFP and JVP were present.

Matara MMCs, Sosidra Hadunge of the SLFP and Jayantha Pathirana were the main organisers.

Matara Pradeshiya Sabha Members, Ariyapala Bambaranda, S. Subasinghe, W. K. Hewa, Chandrasiri Devasurendra and Ven. Talpawila Amarajothi and Ven. Kotapola Vegiya Theras were also present.

The whole of Matara was all noise at the auspicious time of the signing of the MoU with a barrage of crackers amidst the clapping and cheering.
