News Business Features Editorial Security Politics World Letters Sports Obituaries | Party leaders agree all PC elections on same day Party leaders yesterday agreed to take up the Provincial Council (Amendment) Bill for debate when Parliament meets on February 3, political sources said. The Bill seeks to freeze the number of Provincial Council members and maintain the present number of members. Party leaders who met at the Parliamentary Complex yesterday had also agreed to hold the elections for all Provincial Councils on a same day. "It was agreed to hold elections on a Saturday to prevent economic and administrative activities being disturbed," sources said. |
