Presidential Commission to probe ITN

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga has appointed a one man Commission to probe into the financial and administrative affairs at the Independent Television Network and the Lakhanda Radio during the past two years.

Former Secretary, Justice Ministry and senior civil servant M. S. Jayasinghe appointed by the President who is also the Media Minister, will investigate irregular appointments, promotions, salary increases, allowances, scholarships and irregular purchases during the last two years at the ITN and the Lakhanda Radio.

Employees and outsiders can give evidence before the Commission, required to report back within a month.
