Stock market up again

The stock market rose further at yesterday's trading where the All Share Price Index(ASPI) moved up 6.93 points to 1,123.4 points and the Milanka Price Index (MPI) closed at 2,031.4, up by 17.85 points.

Total Return Indices on the All Share Price Index was 1,124.38 and TRI on Milanka Price Index was 2,013.52 points.

Turnover for the day was Rs 279.85 million. Yesterday's trading recorded domestic purchases worth Rs 248.72 million and foreign purchases of Rs. 30.87 million.

Large volumes of SLT, JKH, Distilleries, Nations Trust and Asian Hotels were traded during yesterday.

Bank, finance and insurance sector moved to 2,660.3 points from 2,625 points the previous day.

Hotels and travels increased to 754 points from 751.06, Telecom to 140 points from 131.67 and Diversified to 314.3 points from 312.7 from the previous day.

Blue Diamonds, Lanka Ventures, Acme and Ceylon Leather were among the top five gainers.

DFCC Bank announced a one for three bonus issue.
