Oracle Corp set for direct operations

Oracle Corporation a worldwide ICT and Management Solutions Company will start direct operations in Sri Lanka with the setting up of a liaison office by March in Colombo. The new move will facilitate the strategizing, management and follow-up of large business opportunities for Oracle in the country.

"We have seen a solution space for our products and service in Sri Lanka since country's economy has got onto the right track .In fact economic indicators have recorded positive gains" said Regional Mangaer, Oracle South Asia Growth Economies, Samina Rizwan.

"This is the right place for investment " Mrs. Rizwan said. "Our office in Colombo will mainly deal with business management solutions, banking solutions and e-government consultant activities ", she said.

"Sri Lanka has an attractive business potentials and one such reason is the flexibility in visa modalities and everybody can come to Sri Lanka for business purposes unlike other countries" she said.

"We will adopt "Go-To-Market-Model" strategy to attract market opportunities in foreign industrial, government, public, financial, manufacturing and Telecom sectors", she said.

"Since Oracle has excelled in e-governance, I am optimistic that we will be able to play a wider role in the e-SriLanka initiative implemented by the government", she said.

"We will follow up large opportunities and initiatives made by our partners such as DMS,JKCS and MIT'.

Oracle is not merely a product and it is a value proposition. Our company partners with other companies in order to offer a complete solutions pact to our customer and synergy has been always possible with Oracle", she said.

Oracle has been helping customers manage critical information while getting the most up-to-date and accurate information.

Oracle has also adopted Corporate Governance Guidelines to help ensure that it has the authority and procedures in place to oversee the work of management and to exercise independence in evaluating Oracle Corporation's business operations.
