He was addressing a group of peace committee members belonging to Eheliyagoda Police area at a special meeting held at Eheliyagoda Police auditorium in order to educate them towards the prevention of village level crimes. Nanayakkara pointed out that incidents related to child abuse has increased alarmingly and it is very important to educate parents towards the prevention of child abuse etc. Members of these Peace Committees perform a yeoman service for their respective villages by providing information related to unlawful activities in these areas in time, he said. He said the Dhamma School education in the country must be developed systematically so as to direct our younger generation towards the correct path. Nanayakkara requested the Peace Committee members not to be afraid to supply information to the Police in time. Eheliyagoda OIC, Kumara Sandanaike also spoke. |
