by Sarath Malalasekera Police Christmas Carols was held at the Police Grounds Bambalapitiya recently with the participation of a large number of police families and well-wishers. Chief Guest was Inspector General of Police Indra de Silva. Singers Noeline Honter, Clifford Richard, Swinly Perera, Suhadhini Perera, Shyami Ratnam. Manel Menaka and Eranga Ranga of the Police Department entertained the participants. Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Perera and the Choir of St. Anthony's Church. Kochchikade assisted the singers. Rev. Fr. Mahesh Ganemulla, Parish Prist, St. Thomas' Church, Kotte, the Parish children and Mrs. Kanthi Silva also participated at the Christmas Carol ceremony. Sri Lanka Police Band who was in attendance conducted music led by Director Music Superintendent of Police Lancelot Perera and Band Master Chief Inspector Marcus Tissera. The entire Police grounds was illuminated with coloured bulbs adding colour to the Christmas Carols 2003. Compere Dr. Vijaya Corea conducted the proceedings. Field Force Headquarters DIG Punnaya de Silva was in charge of the organising committee assisted by FFHQ Commandant Senior SP Rohan Abeywardena, Senior SP Keerthi de Silva, ASP Ratnatilleke and Chief Inspector Gamini Maturata, OIC FFHQ. |
