India offers short term secondment for journalists

The India-Sri Lanka Foundation, a fund set up by the Governments of India and Sri Lanka to promote bilateral cooperation, invites applications from young Sri Lankan journalists for short-term secondment with Indian publishing houses. The secondment will be for a period of one month during which the journalists will be attached to Indian publishing houses to obtain hands on experience in reporting, editing and other areas of journalism.

Good quality accommodation will be provided. The first batch of journalists has successfully completed their training and returned to Sri Lanka.

Those interested may apply to the Secretary, India-Sri Lanka Foundation, C/o Commission of India, No. 36-38, Galle Road, Colombo 3 with their resume, work experience, areas of interest, letters of recommendation from two referees and a write up on career goals, latest by January 30, 2004. Only short listed candidates will be called for interview.
