No closing date The Ministry of Interior in a press release issued yesterday said that there is no closing date for receipt of declaration by persons entitled to apply for citizenship under the grant of Citizenship to Persons of Indian Origin Act No. 35 of 2003. The release said: "Those who are entitled to apply for citizenship under the grant of Citizenship to Persons of Indian Origin Act No. 35 of 2003 should fill the relevant official declaration forms available with the Department of Registration of Persons of Indian Origin, 3rd Floor, Unity Plaza Building, Colombo 04 and at the offices of the Government Agents and Divisional Secretariats and also published in all Tamil newspapers and English newspapers recently. The applicants are requested to follow the instructions already available with GAs/Divisional Secretaries and published in English, Sinhala and Tamil dailies on December 4 and 5. These forms also could be downloaded from the department's website www.immigration.gov.lk. The applicants should fill up only the forms officially issued by the department which are in conformity with the form provided in the published Act." |
