Prevent violent acts - LTTE

A new round of talks, designed to discuss the prevailing security situation and explore possibilities of containing the continuing acts of violence in Trincomalee and its suburbs, was held at Kattaparichchan on Wednesday, attended by 22 Division Commander Major General Sunil Tennekoon, local Head of Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission and LTTE.

The LTTE leader in Trincomalee Paduman in the company of two LTTE local leaders from Kadawana and Kandalkadu participated in these talks, said a press release issued by the Army Headquarters.

During this constructive and cordial meeting, LTTE military leader Paduman instructed his local leaders to take action to prevent any recurrence of violent acts in their respective areas.

The LTTE has further agreed to allow peasants around the Manirasakulam LTTE camp engage in cultivation work in the immediate vicinity of the camp.
