Sri Jayawardenapura University lecturers supporting a fellow don on a death fast and a mass of undergraduates continued to remain at the university premises yesterday for the second day defying a senate order to vacate the university premises.

Presidential Commission cites weak leadership of VC as cause

Weak leadership of the incumbent Vice Chancellor and his predecessor have contributed much to the violence at the Sri Jayawardenapura University, says the Presidential Commission appointed to probe into causes of incidents of violence with special reference to the serious incident of violence that occurred on September 24, 2003.
