A challenge to Einstein from a Sri Lankan experimentalist

There were two globes in Galileo's hands who was on the top of Pisa tower. The volume of globes were equal. But the weight of one globe was ten times greater than the other one. Galileo released these two globes at one and the same time.

The observers who were watching the falling globs thought that the globe which was ten times greater than the other one in weight with fall first on the ground. Because Aristotle had taught so. But to their great surprise two globes fell at one and the same moment. The truth which they saw before their own eyes was rejected. Because their knowledge was imprisoned in their previous knowledge.

Let us see with an open mind.

However today's situation is quite different from the Galilean era. The wise people who live today question everything which should be questioned. Therefore if someone has come forward to disprove the fundamental ideas of the theory of Relativity (which was presented by the eminent scientist Albert Einstein in 1905 and valid even today) it is no doubt that the present educated people will look into such a revolutionary charge in a moderate critical mind. A challenge to Einstein.

Mr. K.A.D. Wansaratne of Gampaha who has been making observations in the Astro physical and Astronomical fields more than 4 decades has presented a series of theoretical and practical experiments making a serious challenge to the fundamental ideas of special and general relativity.

Einstein's conclusions and associated circumstances.

The fundamental idea of the special theory of relativity is that a time interval which depend on a uniform and rectilinear velocity is relative. In brief the basic idea of this statement is that the time is a relative and a variable thing which is dependent on the velocity of moving objects. In accordance with the Einstein postulate two the velocity of light in a vacuum is a constant. i.e. 300,000 kilometres per second.

Thus the famous equation of E=mc squared which has been originated on the constancy of travelling of light in a vacuum, i.e. c, is regarded as the basic equation of a large area in Physics. Indeed the constant velocity c of light in a vacuum is the fundamental entity in the evolution of thought concerning the Doppler effect, the Hubble relation of radial expansion of galaxies and Hubble constant, the Big Bang cosmology and the special and general theories of relativity. Accordingly the so-called origin of universe and the conventional structure of universe are established on the constancy of the velocity c of light in a vacuum. Therefore if there is a change in the velocity c in a vacuum, everything would be changed.

The Hubble relation of radial expansion of galaxies and the Hubble constant which had been presented in 1929 by the famous American astrophysicist Edwin P. Hubble is also dependent on c fundamentally.

He has practically and mathematically proved a most remarkable thing. That is apart form our local group all the other galaxies seem to be racing away from us at tremendous velocities with the speeds of radial recession increasing with distance. Accordingly the so-called origin and structure of universe is constructed on Hubble's ideas basically.

Is Big Bang cosmology a faulty argument?

The next thing which came into existence in the human's cosmic journey was the famous Big Bang theory which is dependent on Doppler's equations and Hubble's ideas.

However the foundation of Big Bang is also dependent on the theory of relativity fundamentally. Mr. Wansaratne has theoretically and practically proved in his books that so-called radial expansion of galaxies is rejected in his books as and untenable idea and an unwarranted hypothesis. Therefore if the radial expansion is rejected the Big Bang cosmology cannot itself survive.

In accordance with above mentioned facts it is obvious that what Mr. Wansaratne exposes; according to the results of his experiments which were carried out more than four decades he has theoretically and practically proved that the velocity of light in a vacuum is not a constant and he has published this idea through his books titled "On the electrodynamics of the propagation of a light beam pat - 1" and "Further observations on the electrodynamics of the propagation of a light beam"; Note that Mr. Wansaratne's newspaper articles had anticipated the views of orthodox academic physicists.

In 1999 he deduced and published his conclusion that the velocity of light in vacuum cannot be a constant. A team of Australian scientists led by Prof. Paul Davies arrived at the same conclusion only in 2002. Accordingly physicists will have to rethink many of their basic ideas about the laws of universe.

That means giving up the theory of relativity and E=mc squared and all that sort of stuff. So it is obvious that at least several decades will be needed to realize what wonder Mr. Wansaratne has developed in his findings. Mr. Wansaratne had proved not only inconstancy of the velocity of light in vacuum but also that each wavelength (or each colour) of light has separate speeds. In addition he has proved that light quanta can exist in a frame of reference. Therefore light has a rest mass in such frame.

Thus he shows that light is composed of not only the energy of motion but also the energy of mass.

Mr. Wansaratne's work appears to question the ides of not only Einstein but also Galileo, Newton, Doppler, Maxwell, Hubble, Georges Lemaitre and even Michaelson - Morley. Theory of Relativity is being rejected.

This does not mean that we may have to give up our knowledge and throw our books into the dust bin now. Mr. Wansaratne's findings clearly indicate not another thing but the evolution of science.

Experiments even in foreign countries.

It is emphasized that not only in Sri Lanka even in foreign countries some scientists have suspected the fundamental ideas of the theory of relativity now. NASA scientists had discovered that the Hubble's old theory is an incorrect one several years ago.

But Mr. Wansaratne had arrived at the same conclusion and had published the same in newspapers three years before the NASA scientists. Note that Albert Einstein was awarded the Nobel prize for Physics not for his Theory of Relativity but for his observations and conclusion about the particle nature of light. However even today the wave nature of light considered in Physics.

Because there are proofs form several experiments. Among them Huygen's wave front model of light propagation mentioned in his wave theory, Fresnell's wave theory of light associated light interference and light diffraction, Young's double slit experiment and Francois Arago's experiment have been put forward to prove the wave nature of light. However now Mr. Wansaratne is in a position to disprove their conclusion by showing how they have gone wrong with their experiments.

To sum up:

01. Velocity of light in a vacuum cannot be a constant.

02. Fundamental ideas of special and general relativity should be changed.

03. Hubble relation of radial expansion of galaxies and Hubble constant and the Big Bang cosmology which related to Hubble's ideas represent serious misunderstandings or misinterpretations of the nature of reality.

04. therefore so-called structure and so-called origin of the universe should be changed.

(The above book which has been titled "Further observations on the electrodynamics of the propagation of a light beam" authored by Mr. K.A.D. Wansaratne has been written making a serious challenge to the theory of relativity. The author describes through his book that Einstein's theory of relativity, Hubble relation and constant, Big Bang theory which associated to the Hubble's ideas are misunderstandings or misinterpretations of the complexity of the motions of objects in the universe.

According to his calculations Newton's universal formula of gravitation is also facing suspicion. Mr. Wansaratne who has made observations in the Astrophysical field is a member of the British Astronomical Association. Prof. Carlo Fonseka has written the foreword for his books).
