Security Forces not happy with budget proposals Security Forces personnel are disappointed with the new budget proposals as it has failed to give them the expected salary increase recommended by the Tissa Devendra Commission, the Daily News learns. They observe that the Budget has not even given the 20 per cent salary increase recommended by the commission and pointed out that it was the PA Government that gave them the best salary increase. Soldiers in operational areas were reluctant to come to non-operational areas because they have to sacrifice the special allowances they receive while serving in operational areas, a senior officer told the Daily News. "They cannot live on their salary alone", he said. "They are also unhappy at the various malpractices taking place in obtaining the rent allowance." |
