Aida-Cara brings in 1,200 German tourists

A Super Luxury Cruise Liner "AIDA-CARA" with 1,000 German tourists called on Colombo Port recently. The arrival of these tourists on this cruise has helped in promoting Sri Lanka's image internationally.

"The arrival of the Luxury Cruise Liner "AIDA-CARA" with 1,000 German tourists is a clear sign of promoting Sri Lanka's image internationally said Chairman Sri Lanka Ports Authority Dr. Parakrama Dissanayaka at a ceremony held to welcome the arrival of the Luxury Liner.

As customary commemoration plaques between Lutz Leizah Master of the vessel and Chairman, Dr. Parakrama Dissanayaka Sri Lanka were also exchanged.

The Luxury vessel "AIDA-CARA" carried 1,200 passengers and 600 crew members. This is the first occasion such a large number of German tourists arrived in one time.

The ship "AIDA-CARA" is with abundant provision of means of comfort, costly pleasures and relaxation such as swimming pools, cinema theatres, hospital, night clubs, a mini golf course, shopping complexes, library, restaurants.

Ports Authority Chairman Dissanayaka said that the arrival of the ship with more than 1,000 tourists could be attributed as a special incident and the tourists will be able to mark immovable experiences during their stay in Sri Lanka.

Managing Director Ceyline Group of Companies Capt. Ajith Peris, the local agents for the vessel said that, that more tourists will reach Sri Lanka in luxury ships and he is doing his best to make it a reality.

Hemtours of tourist transport service is to provide 16 luxury buses to facilitate the tourists to visit Pinnawela elephant orphanage, Ratnapura, Negombo, Bentota and Colombo city tours.

The "AIDA-CARA" ship arrived from Port Kochin, India and she is scheduled to leave Colombo Port to Phuket, Thailand.
