Hayleys MGT Knitting Mills Ltd., the Hayleys Group's textile manufacturing venture, has won the Sri Lanka National Quality Award for 2003 and has also reaffirmed its status as a global player by securing prestigious international contracts.

The company said this week it had been awarded the National Quality Award by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) in the Large Scale - Manufacturing category, becoming the first textile manufacturer in the country to win this celebrated accolade.

The award was announced four months after Hayleys MGT Knitting Mills was selected exclusive fabric supplier for the English football team's away kit, by the international sportswear designer UMBRO.

After the launch of Euro 2004 to be played in March 2004 in Portugal, English football fans all over the world will wear this red soccer shirt.
