A 26-member pool has been named for the tri-nation women's series scheduled for April 2004 by selectors, Rohan Fernando, A. R. M. Aroos and Mercian Fernando.

Seven one-day internationals will be played between Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India in Colombo and Kandy. This is the first time that a tri-nation series in Asia is played and will be organised at a grand scale with Singer being the official sponsors.

The three countries who are full members of the International Women's Cricket Council will vie for the Singer/Asia Cup with handsome cash prizes thrown in.

Live telecast for the seven matches are also being successfully negotiated. The possibility of the President of the IWCC, Christine Brealy being invited is also being considered.

The pool practices will commence on June 2 and the final 14 named on February 2 after which rigorous coaching will be conducted.
