Deputy Foreign Minister Vidar Helgesen will, as planned several weeks ago, visit Sri Lanka from 10 to 13 November to have meetings related to the ongoing peace process, states the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Colombo. On Tuesday Helgesen is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Wickremesinghe in the afternoon. He is also meeting the Leader of the Opposition, Mahinda Rajapakse, SLMC leader Rauf Hakeem and other Muslim representatives, Lakshman Kadirgamar M.P. and representatives from the Tamil National Alliance. He will also meet with religious leaders and with the EPDP and PLOTE on his first day of his visit, it added. Helgesen will on Wednesday meet with President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga. He will also meet with different civil society groups and representatives from international donor agencies. On Thursday morning Helgesen will travel to Killinochchi to meet with the leadership of the LTTE. Helgesen has not planned to hold any press conference during his visit this time, the statement concludes. |
